FCC 19: RESULTS

It’s hard to believe, but this November we will celebrate six years of Full Contact Contender!

It’s been a wild ride; from humble beginnings in a community hall to sell out shows at the Macron.

Over the years we have provided a platform for fighters of all levels, from debut amateurs and domestic prospects to international stars. Our goal with FCC was always to showcase the wealth of domestic talent the UK produces. Last night we witnessed a card packed with the next generation of British MMA talent, including a number of familiar faces who returned to the FCC cage.

Our main event embodied the spirit of ‘back to our roots’.

Kevin Fryer was one of our first amateur champions who took on long-time UKMMA veteran Alex Minogue.

The pair threw down for the FCC Middleweight title which saw Kevin take the win by TKO during the first round, and with that the title of FCC British Middleweight Champion.

Our co-main event of the evening featured a whole lot of bad blood and a fierce rivalry that could only be settled in the cage.

In the lead up to FCC19 ‘The Clayton Park Strangler’ Tony Morgan made some incendiary comments over social media, which Kenneth 'K-Force' Richardson took about as well as you might expect!

So we were extremely excited to see how this one would play out.

Throughout the fight, Richardson had full control and dominated all 3 rounds over Morgan; he took the win to be crowned the FCC British Welterweight Champion.

Elsewhere on the card, we saw a real highlight as we were treated to a rare Boston Crab submission! Jonno Mears returned to action in his pro debut against Aaron Jones.

During the first round, with Jones on his stomach, Mears grabbed both of Jones’ legs and bent them backward until he was in a sitting position, forcing Jones to tap out.

A ridiculous, pro-wrestling style submission akin to the Walls of Jericho; which has since gone viral and had even had Chris Jericho re-tweeting.

On behalf of the entire FCC team, thank you for being the most important part of last night’s event! We can’t wait to see you back for FCC 20 next year!
