FCC 15: LOUGHNANE IS BACK

We are proud to announce the return of our British Lightweight Champion Brendan Loughnane at FCC 15. Loughnane will welcome long time UKMMA mainstay and two-time UFC competitor Dave Lee to the FCC cage on March 5th as part of an explosive double main event.

Loughnane (10-2 MMA, 3-0 FCC) will return to our cage for the first time since October 2014, where he capped off an unbeaten British title run with his most impressive performance for the promotion with a second-round KO of Ali Maclean.

The All Powers MMA standout has since enjoyed success in a three-fight stint with European MMA powerhouse BAMMA, culminating in a hotly-disputed 145lb title loss to Thomas Duquesnoy. Loughnane has been granted permission to take a fight outside of his BAMMA contract in order to remain active in the first quarter of 2016.

“I'm happy to be back on FCC and to be back fighting at 155lbs.” said Loughnane. “It's always good to be fighting in my home town! FCC is always a great show, and I can't wait to kick-start what is going to be a busy 2016 with a big win on March 5th!”

Dave Lee is a long-standing competitor on the UKMMA circuit, having been active for 15 years. With fights on Cage Rage, UCMMA, BAMMA and a two-fight stint in the UFC under his belt, Lee is a storied veteran who has more recently turned his hand to coaching the next generation of British talent. Inactive since 2013, the Team Crossface fighter is a grappling specialist, with all 12 of his pro wins coming by way of submission.

“I'm grateful to FCC for getting me this fight...” said Lee. “I was originally supposed to fight for their featherweight title but here I am, fighting after a two-year lay-off, jumping in against a tough, all-round fighter. Brendan is much better looking than me and about 10 years younger, so really this old man is just popping up to Bolton to see if he's still got it!”

Promoter Adam Teh said: “FCC 14 ended our most successful year to date on a high note, so we knew that FCC 15 would need to be something special in order to keep the ball rolling. With thanks to BAMMA, I'm delighted to welcome our British Lightweight Champion Brendan Loughnane back to the FCC cage. Bren has been fighting some of Europe's best up and comers; now he'll get to test his mettle against the savage submission game of the massively experienced Dave Lee!”

In addition to the first half of FCC 15's Double Main Event, the promotion have also confirmed the first batch of undercard contests, featuring a pair of scintillating amateur title fights. FCC fan-favourite Chris Senior will defend his welterweight title against Mark Kinsella; a bout that was originally supposed to go down on FCC 13, before being nixed by illness on fight day. The events of FCC13 created some bad blood between the pair; both will be looking to settle the score on March 5th.

Igor Puskarskis will look to make the second defence of his middleweight title against FCPC's Brent Tierney. Tierney is FCC's current amateur light heavyweight champion and will look to become a two division title holder when he faces the 11-0 Puskarskis over three, three-minute rounds.

A number of other professional bouts have also been confirmed for the March 5th event. Ste Nightingale (3-1 MMA, 2-0 FCC) making his flyweight debut against Martin Wong (2-0 MMA). Wong will finally be making his FCC debut after his FCC 14 bout was ended on the scales.

Mick Bowman (8-4 MMA, 0-1 FCC) will look to get back on the winning track following a decision loss to Aymard Guih at FCC 14. He'll face another Frenchman in Parabellum's Aziz Stringer (6-5 MMA). Robbie Fallon and James Winstanley meet in their professional debuts, while Ian Williams makes his third FCC appearance, taking on Gorilla Fight Team's Dan Gibbon.

Finally, HAMMA coach Sean Martin will step inside the cage, taking on Poland's Marcin Bocain.

FCC 15 takes place on Saturday, March 5th at Bolton's Macron Stadium.
